The difference between an oil basin and an oil cup

Pad printing machines can be divided into open oil basin and sealed oil cup systems, and the rubber head stroke action is the same on both systems.

1. Open oil pan:

(1) When the pad printing head moves forward, the ink on the oil roller fills the pattern etching printing plate;

(2) When the pad printing head is retreated, the steel knife will scrape off the excess ink on the steel plate, leaving only the ink in the pattern etching;

(3) The printing head drops to take the ink, and prints it on the surface of the product, so that the cycle is carried out.

2. Sealed oil cup system:

(1) When the oil cup is pushed forward, the ink in the cup is sent to the etched position on the printing plate, and the ink fills it;

(2) When the oil cup retreats, the ceramic/tungsten steel knife ring of the oil cup scrapes off the excess ink on the steel plate, leaving only the ink inside the pattern etching;

(3) The printing head drops to take the ink, and prints it on the surface of the product, so that the cycle is carried out.

The five main elements of pad printing:

1. Sealed oil cup: It integrates the functions of sealing storage ink and scraping off excess ink;

2. Printing glue head: This is the medium that transmits the ink from the printing plate to the surface of the product;

3. Printing plate: etching printing pattern;

4. Ink: determine the color according to the requirements of the print;

5. Pad printing machine: Perform transfer printing.

The sealed oil cup combines the functions of sealed storage ink and scraping ink. The ink is sealed between the surface of the printing plate and the blade of the ceramic ring of the oil cup. The ink is sealed in the oil cup, which minimizes the chance of exposing the ink to air, reduces the amount of ink volatilization, and maintains the stability of the ink concentration, thus ensuring stable and ideal printing results.

Tips for choosing pad heads and pad inks:

To get a clear and vivid printing effect, you should pay attention to the following when choosing a pad print head:

1. Choose the appropriate glue head according to the printing pattern, and the different shapes of the glue head match different patterns.

2. Try to choose a pad print head with a large angle.

3. If the product can withstand the pressure, you should use a harder print head, because the harder rubber head has a longer life and can print a clearer pattern. A variety of pad printing inks are flooding the market, screen printing inks are also used for pad printing, excellent pad printing inks must have the following characteristics:

(1) Different materials choose inks with different properties, which have strong viscosity to the printing surface;

(2) Good fluidity, some inks are slurry-like and cannot flow in the oil cup or oil basin;

(3) When the diluent evaporates with the ink, it can exert its viscosity (fastness);

(4) The fine pigment will make the gloss more obvious and reduce the transparency, and the normal ink thickness of general printing is 7μm;

(5) The gloss of the ink cannot be changed by the influence of the printing surface;

(6) It can dry quickly but does not affect its viscosity.

Features of oil pan type:

Low cost, large printing area, easy installation and disassembly, flexible operation, directly pour the adjusted ink into the oil pan, you can print. The installation and use process of the oil pan: the installation and disassembly of the oil pan are relatively simple, directly push the dovetail protruding from the bottom surface of the oil pan into the dovetail groove of the workbench, adjust it to the position in the middle of the workbench, tighten it with a wrench, and then install the scraper and rubber head, etc.; Then put the dried steel plate into the oil pan, tighten it with the tired wire in front of the oil pan of the wrench pad printing machine, and fix the steel plate in the oil pan; Pour an appropriate amount of ink into the oil pan, and inject boiling oil water into the oil pan and stir together, the depth of the general ink should not be more than 2mm of the height of the steel plate in the oil pan. After starting the pad printing machine, use a squeegee to scrape the pad printing ink back and forth. When everything is ready for the substrate, you can start pad printing.

Characteristics of the oil cup type:

The main feature of the ink cup pad printing machine is that the ink cup is environmentally friendly, which minimizes ink waste and odor volatilization; Using imported ceramic cup ring and tungsten steel cup ring, the ink can be placed for a long time, and the concentration is still stable. The closed state of the ink in the ink cup will isolate the volatilization of harmful components in the ink, the health damage of the operator will be minimized, and the stability of printability will be guaranteed.

Whether it is an oil basin or an oil cup, when the pad printing machine is not used for a long time, you should pay attention to remove it, and clean the ink inside with boiling oil and water for next use
